Mission Techies Head Quarters week 6

Saturday: On Saturday I woke up at 7:30 to come to SF from Oakland in order to volunteer for the get connected event MEDA was hosting that day. I can start by telling you that day flew by. I was so busy throughout the day that I had not even noticed when it was time for the career panel. That morning I had been helping members of the Mission community use their phones to their full potential. I helped various families download apps that will prove to be useful to them through their daily activities. At one Leo came and got all the Techies so that we may view the career panel. Their were four speakers all in different technological positions.  They spoke of how they got to where they are at, and the various ways in which we can find people whom can support us. They also spoke with the parents and encouraged them to encourage their kids to do what makes them happy.

Monday:On monday we were assigned into three groups to enter the data from the Get Connected event. We had to create Excel Spreadsheets, charts, and make a presentation. We are still not done we plan on finishing next week. Then we started Tech support. Leo introduced us to the ticket system.

Tuesday: On Monday we started of by doing Job Readiness Training up until two. Then we did financial capability. Where we all spoke of what we planned to do withing a year. I decided I wanted to go to Hawaii and Leo sent me(us) a spread sheet in which we can create a budget for our goals(mine was Hawaii). Then we started Coding!!! we created an account with code acadamy I gotas as to level 8.

Thursday: Today we had Natalie Teter come and speak to us about a program called Emerging Mediamakers. Is basically a program that helps people learn skills in various different areas of technology. Then once sh left we did Tech support for the rest of the day...that is untill the pizza came.
