A high level of productivity is essential for the tech industry. This week we've learned how important it is to stay focused, on task, and to continue to be productive at one's work in the technology sector. Being able to manage yourself, schedule, and workload will make you an asset to whatever company you attain a job with. Having the determination to get a job done in a timely and efficiently manner will bring unsurmounting value to one's self. It is great to learn these lessons about the industry.

Today's topic was about productivity. This week was short for me since I missed a day, We finished the laptops for mission girls and returned them back. We learn something new on Java with Decision structures such as the if statement. Today we worked on some Mac computers they are giving us a lot of trouble since they don't boot up. we tried many troubleshooting solutions but nothing worked, so now we are going to open the computer to see if we need to replace anything.

Today's topic was about productivity. Everyone had a different project or computer to work on. I worked on a Macbook Pro today and it was really interesting and fun to work on. I was pretty productive in the fact that I was able to complete my diagnostics of the laptop, I contacted the Client and He was able to come in and go over some of the issues. We ultimately decided on swapping out the Macbook with another Macbook that was donated to MEDA. I'm really excited to continue this project and I hope to learn a lot more!

2Bits on last weeks
There were a lot of things going on that week. First we got to work on the Mission Girls laptop to get them up and running. We got to do some coding with Mark. I could not show up completely for the thursday session. I fell ill, but I heard from my colleagues that it was going pretty well. I am glad that they all enjoy the work that we put in as a group and hope to improve in their careers.

Last week was really great. We received our first laptops to work on from Mission Girls. There were 8 laptops in all. We ran diagnostics on them trying to figure out anything wrong. We also updated Java and removed Skype from the start up menu. On Thursday we had a guest speaker, Mary Vaskas, an AVP from Wells Fargo. She talked to us about what a project manager is and what it is they exactly do. I really enjoyed her presentation. It was really animated and it made me more interested in probably pursuing a career as a project manager. On Friday, we visited Galvanize IT. It was a really cool experience. I look forward to the next visit on Thursday 4/9.

Mission Techies has been amazing thus far! The skills I have learned in the elapsed time have helped me to grow my knowledge in the technology field enormously. I am more aware of my position within the technology sector and I can see a career path for myself in the near future. I am excited to finish the Mission Techies Academy strong!
