Hello from Planet Earth.
Last week the techies and I worked on installing Linux on donated laptops. they work properly, but the only thing is that we can only log in as guests. We split up in teams and hooked up everything just to figure that out the hard way. Leo seemed kind of upset that we wasted some time on that but stuff is sometimes complicated and that's another learning experience. The girls from FROG came back and taught us all an important social technique that I'm sure most of the techies and I will be using to deal with a lot of folks in the IT world. They taught us their method of giving and receiving feedback so that instead of hindering ourselves like the suckers of a tree we can grow in a balanced way together without stepping on any toes. We also had a public speaker come in and talk to us about networking in the IT world. He explained that he and his colleagues were working on a project that hooked up disconnected youth to folks that can offer opportunities in the field. He will takes us to a mixer where we can meet important people who might just help us establish ourselves in tech. All these folks coming in and instilling their ideas unto us almost makes me feel like a guinea pig but instead of getting electrocuted for getting things wrong, we're receiving cheese for following the right path. There was a lot of learning this week and I believe we'll only be getting stronger and smarter. One day, when our first star travelers leave Earth due to the work I hope to aid, I'll be able to talk about and give credit to MEDA. The last generation shot for the moon and landed, ours will shoot for the stars and establish homes there.
Signing off,
SpaceBot V.7
