On Monday of our 3rd week we started tearing computers apart! Dell Optiplex 770 got striped down to only the case. It was fun especially when you know they don't work anyways and you're not scared of ruining them or burning out a circuit which I have done before on a working computer. Seeing everyone learning and striping down their computer made me realized how little knowledge even our generation have about hardware nonetheless people who only has basic knowledge of using a computer. It was fun seeing people excited and feeling accomplished after the task was done.
On Tuesdays after job readiness training with Olivia we had to set up a network directly from a drop to our laptops. We had floor supervisor and coordinated what to do as a team in order to set up the network and get it to run. It was a simple task and it went smooth except one thing. We forgot our cable managements! Very important and great thing to learn so we keep that in mind for our next task! Cleanliness and organize.
On Thursday it was stripping laptops the whole day. The laptops were harder than towers for sure. We started taking apart laptops screw by screw and striped it down to also just the case. Definitely people had more trouble with that than the PC but we did it. After break we started to reassemble them back which wasn't the major problem for most people I am sure. It was the screws for me at least... Be organized and keep a good note on which screw goes where because there's a million of them!
