In this free 12-week (Mon - Fri 240 hour) training program, participants learn IT essentials of hardware, software, networking and coding, plus how to provide tech support to low-income families. Graduates of the program receive a $500 stipend, job-readiness training, professional skills, ongoing placement, retention services, college prep and knowledge of how to enroll in post-secondary education. This week I learned how to identify, take out, and put back a system unit. It was very easy for me to understand what we were doing as soon as I knew how to take the components out. It was even easier putting it back together. Doing the project helped me understand a lot of the components because I'm a visual learner and i learn better working with my hands.
