Recap of 3rd week

In our third week of MEDA, we started off the week by learning our hardware components. Prior to that, our take home assignment was to be creative and make a computer out of cardboard and we had to label and make all the components we remembered. After we presented our work, we actually took apart and put back together a Dell computer. It was pretty exciting to do because I enjoyed the hands on activity and it wasn't too hard with the help of my peers. Later in the week, a guest speaker came in to explain how important social media is and how it can benefit us in the future. She told us that she would guide us on creating our own LinkedIn profiles. We ended the week by doing more data entry/inventory making sure all the other laptops were in good condition.

Week #3

This week in MEDA, we started off by sharing our cardboard desktops that we made at home. We then learned how to completely dismantle desktop computers. Then we went about identifying the components that were pulled out from the desktop. After that, we preceded to put the computer back together. During this activity I got more comfortable with being able to properly identify the specific components that are inside of a desktop computer. We also learned to about social media and how it can be utilized as a tool to connect with potential employers. I try to stay away from social media, but the presentation made it clear as to why it can be important. Overall, this week was very informative and I learned a lot.

Week Numero Tres is over and this has been a jam packed week! Its been a challenge keeping up with everything we been learning the last week but its been a hell of a ride! building a computer out of cardboard and labeling each different component was fun but I've never been much of an arts and crafts guy. However to my surprise I did really enjoy taking apart a computer and putting it back again. Hardware might come easier for me but the goal is mastering software and picking up some coding on the way. What i really took away for this week was and is learning to balance my personal life with this program, I get what I put in and I might be skating by but the point is to excel and grow, not cruise along. Week three

This is week three at mission techies. So far I've learned all the components inside the system unit, I've taken it apart and will be putting it together today after class. I did data entry again this week which was kind of boring now. Monday i turned in a homemade cardboard computer. So it was kind of a mellow week for me.

This week I learned how to identify, take out, and put back a system unit. It was very easy for me to understand what we were doing as soon as I knew how to take the components out. It was even easier putting it back together. Doing the project helped me understand a lot of the components because I'm a visual learner and i learn better working with my hands.

week numero 3

It is now week three of the mission tech program. So far, so good. I've learned a lot about the components of the computer and how it functions. I also learned where cables go and what they do. It has been going by really fast but at the same time it has been fun. I enjoyed making a computer box also! I can't wait for what else lies ahead in my computer tech adventure ^.^.

What Up Techies,

I am very excited to see you all in the program! I can't wait to see you all working with hardware, software, networking, tech support and coding.

You guys seem like a really cool bunch and it seems that you guys want to learn a lot about the tech industry. I am also looking forward to all of the projects that you will be developing as part of the Mission Techies Program and please make sure to take your notes and use the slides to review as well.

Make it happen next week and you will get a pizza party!
