My First Week as a Mission Techie
During my first week as a mission techie, I learned quite a few things. We first started by learning how to inventory and catalog equipment. We were given a bunch of computers and we were tasked to get them organized by make, model, and condition of the equipment. Then when we were done with that task, we moved onto organizing them based on which laptops were in working condition and which ones needed parts. The days that followed were filled with power point presentations that covered the basics of hardware and software. We also tore down a desktop in real time and had to identify all the parts that were inside of it. Starting from the main components like the hard drive and power supply to the individual wires that connected everything. This was a great activity, it helped a lot of us familiarize ourselves with the different components that are needed to make a computer function properly.
