So.... This week started out sort of morbid. Least we all dressed up nice, and me looking fly in a tie! I'll be honest, the pants I had was sort of comfortable, a little hot, but comfortable. Wasn't really expecting to be comfortable. Gotta dress up more though for appearance and interviews however. Oh Thursday was real hectic also, considering everyone had to download the same OS software on the laptop and my team had the strangest time getting the option to burn the OS into the CD instead, which was unfortunately what we had to follow subsequently with lining up every laptop to one CD and install it one by instead. Frustrating but, must be done. Things to look forward to later is crimping the cables. Never tried it, but should prove a valuable skill.
In this free 12-week (Mon - Fri 240 hour) training program, participants learn IT essentials of hardware, software, networking and coding, plus how to provide tech support to low-income families. Graduates of the program receive a $500 stipend, job-readiness training, professional skills, ongoing placement, retention services, college prep and knowledge of how to enroll in post-secondary education.
